A major first

Ok - this is crazy to post but I'm on cloud 9 (oh how life changes)...

Megan got out of her bath tonight and we were about to get into our PJ's and she looked at me and said, "Potty, potty, potty!" To which I replied, "you want to go to the potty" (she had no diaper on). This happens a lot but she actually won't sit on the potty for more than 5 seconds. Tonight she ran to her little potty, sat on it, and went to the bathroom. OH MY GOSH! Tom and I were basically screaming and praising the daylights out of her... no prompting - she just went. We broke out the stickers and did a potty dance and threw some high 5's.

So it was the 1st time she's ever asked to go potty and actually went!
That's just something you want to record!!!!!!
(yes, I realize it may not happen again for months - unless I get up the courage to potty train her for real.... and honestly, I'm not ready to go there yet).

My oh my, life has changed - not potty time is exciting and worth blogging....

Hooray, Megan!

I have a friend who has a 2? 3? year old niece who's currently being potty trained. And what her niece likes to do is this: 1) decide she needs to poop, 2) run into her room for a diaper, 3) put the diaper on, 4) poop in the diaper, 5) take the diaper off and leave it on the floor, in the middle of the room.

Classy!

I feel in my heart that, when you are ready, and when Megan is ready, Megan will take to potties like a duck to water. And if not, I hear that bribing works magic.

:-P

WOW! That's impressive! I wish I could say that Samuel cared about potty training. I never thought I would be the one with the 3 year old in diapers, but I'm almost that mom. Hopefully by April 27 he will not like the feel of it in his pull-ups or I figure out a better plan. Nothing seems to work around here. Not even gummy bears...

Well, if the tub were a potty, Bryce would have been potty trained at 2 months old. This kid LOVES TO POOP IN THE TUB!!!!!!! Congrats to Megan!!

woo hoo! that is very exciting.

my cousin was here 2 weeks ago, and her 2.5 year old can go all by herself. climb up on the potty and all. she even washed her hands. we just had to help her dry them. :) she said she just had to do it because they had another baby in august, so she didn't want 2 babies in diapers.
