Tubes

Just a short update for those non-Facebookers out there....

Bright and early this morning (ok, it wasn't actually bright -but it was early), we headed to the surgery center for Megan's ear tube surgery. We had to be there at 6:30am. Megan was awesome! What a champ!!!! She had all the nurses, the doctor, and the anesthesiologist in stitches. She was so brave and had no ill reaction to "going under." By the time I got back to the recovery room she was totally fine and ready to go home... not before she told the Dr. that she was going to take him home with her.

It was a great day for her - she was in a great mood today. I have to admit that I was a little shocked - I expected the grumpies - but nope! Of course our after surgery "your so brave" trip to walmart for princess jewelry could've played a part.... or maybe it was the after surgery breakfast at IHOP..... or the dessert of our free Krispy Kreme doughnut (Happy National Doughnut Day)!

In the past 2 weeks (since our last ENT appt), the tube in her left ear had fallen out also - so she has 2 new tubes in those precious ears of hers. The last set of Doctors instructions were for, "no riding bikes or climbing on playgrounds" because the anesthesia can have a lingering effect and make kids clumsy for 24 hours. I'm glad we followed that direction because Megan was a little off balance all day. She has run into walls, doors, fallen, hit her head.... and all that was just playing in the living room and play room. I can't imagine what would've happened if we had let her climb to the top of a slide. Eeek. Hopefully tomorrow little miss twinkle toes will be back!
