We have a system down now.... I try not to pack too much stuff - but it's also vital to make sure we have a few toys for those early morning risers and rainy afternoons. This year I let Megan choose one toy she wanted and one to share with Nicole. Then I also chose one for Nicole. I took Nicole's portable doll house because I knew that would keep her occupied for hours. Megan chose her princess/polly pockets tub for her toy and her wedgits for them to share. Of course they were broken out while we were unloading cars and unpacking. It was cute to see all 5 cousins putting together carriages and dressing dolls...
But that didn't last long... as soon as we got everything put away we had to hit the beach. No suits this time, just a foot dip in the water and squishing sand in our toes.
The cousins: Justin (10), Daniel (12) then Nicole (1), Anna (7), and Megan (4).

Fun vacation! We're headed to the beach with Michael's family in about a month. I'm not a beach girl, but you can't deny the fun when the whole family is there. We're with you--we pack VERY little in the way of toys for the kids. In fact, when we went to Montana for a month, I had one ziploc bag of toys--that's it. And, the boys were absolutely fine. There's enough to play with outside/in kitchen cabinets/with water/with others/etc.
