Fun times with Uncle Dan

Life has been a bit crazy lately.  We had a fun week and a half with Uncle Dan.  I'll try to get caught up this week with some fun pictures of our fun in review.

The girls loved taking Uncle Dan to some of their favorite places.... Like Monkey Joe's.

And Steak and Shake....
(yes, my 2 1/2 year old LOVES their chili)

And INK (Interactive Neighborhood for Kids) - which is a bit of a drive, but totally worth it for all the fun the girls have!

Megan loved the little news room:

Evidently, Nicole thought Uncle Dan needed a little trim...

And my most favorite part.... Watching the girls "on stage"...

Nicole spent some time trying to impress Uncle Dan with her awesome cutting skills.

Megan and Uncle Dan read book after book after book.
We had a great time and there are more pictures to come!

Welcome

Welcome to GA Uncle Dan!

The girls were SO excited to have Uncle Dan finally get here for his summer visit from MN.

Then to make it even more special - we got to say Welcome Back to Uncle Kevin, Aunt Kelly, Daniel, Justin and Anna.  They just got home from their 80 days through Europe!   The girls have been so excited to see their cousins.

Nicole wanted to show Daniel and Justin how she could play on her Leappad Explorer.
Megan was so excited about her treats from afar - a princess bear from London and a sticker book of princesses from Paris.  Oh la la!
And Nicole loves being the "masked princess" in her fancy ball masks.
We are glad to have everyone back home from their travels abroad but miss living vicariously through them.   Now we'll ramp up our living here and get to some good ole fun times with Uncle Dan!

Empty

Who knew how much fun 2 girls could have in an empty room....

We had our carpets cleaned last week and moved all the big furniture out and the girls thought we had created a stage just for them!  The sang, danced and created plays.

oh yeah --- and they ran...

Love those girls!

Hippo and Doughnut Day

Last week we started up our summer fun with a trip to the Purple Hippo Art studio.  My girls LOVE art so I've been eagerly waiting for Nicole to be old enough to really enjoy it.  Oh yes, the time has come!!!!

This is my new favorite place!  When you get there, you get a little bucket and get to go through the "buffet line" and get some art supplies... wow!
then - you create till your heart is content....
We met up with our friends Will and Emma and they kids had so much fun.

I love that they have so many different art materials.  As a elementary school teacher, I have a TON of art supplies.  I love fostering creativity so we always have little art activities going on at home - but the Purple Hippo has an insane variety of supplies.  My girls were in heaven, and I must admit - so was I!!!!!
And truly the best part..... I didn't have to clean up all that stuff from my own kitchen table!

Then the next day - we celebrated the arrival of summer by celebrating National Doughnut Day!

YUM!
